Zeus by derylbraun Zeus by derylbraun
Mythological characters going mech.
Came up with the theme after a serious artist block and since i havn´t done mechstuff i gave it a go.

First: Zeus

- bladelike parts around his neck represent the typical beard.
- Forearm is kind of a generator to make his lightning stuff happen.
- the flow of some parts should refer to a toga
and
- the eagle themed parts refer to the story of Ganymed.

Looking forward to do Hades or Medusa now.
Hope you enjoy it.

Oh MY God!!! Ive been trying to pull off a mecha twist on greek mythology for so long but they come out looking sooo cartoony. How do you come up with so much detail and realism? Please give me some tips. Ugh the struggle.

I like this series ... I had a similar concept many years ago with angels... never did make em to look quite as good as this tho... maybe someday.  For some reason It made me remember an old anime called Zeorimer... although clearly it doesn't look like this but it has that all powerfull awesome mech kinda feel to it.

Thanks for that. Yeah, give it a go. Make sure to show me. plz. I googled Zeorymer and i think it´s the shape design that makes you think of it and i guess it´s part of your visual library too.

Yeah, the flat haed issue. ^^ The plain felt right for some reason. I tried a bigger head and another position but that took away from the impression that his body is huuuuge. dk hahahaha
